We are excited to announce the return of our annual Art of Community Weekend!
Running from Thursday, Jan. 26th through Sunday, Jan. 29th, we will be celebrating the creative and diverse community that has supported us throughout the years. Events include the Coventry Living Room Project desing session, the Community of ARTists exhibition, our quarterly PEACE Pops and ARTFUL Open Studios, community art making workshops, live music by Half Craic’d, our first P.E.A.C.E. Celebration & Awards Night where attendees are encouraged to bring their most creative appetizers to share and wear their favorite creative outfit, the launch of Sam Silverman’s Soundworlds book, a celebratory Dance Party, and an Indoor Chalk Festival.
The weekend’s activities include both free and paid events which are open to all ages and help to support Coventry PEACE and our member non-profit organizations. What is Coventry PEACE Campus?
When the school district sought to divest itself from the former Coventry Elementary School building in 2017, leaving its future uncertain, the leaders of all the tenant organizations and a broad base of community supporters came together in a grassroots movement to propose ways to preserve and grow the thriving arts, culture and education hub that had organically taken root there. From this effort, the Coventry PEACE Campus came into being. The Coventry P.E.A.C.E. building currently houses a dozen local and regional nonprofits. It is our goal to provide an accessible, sustainable, more efficient, and affordable home for these nonprofits, and to attract new organizations to the building.
