The Art of Community Fundraiser

In May of 2019, Coventry PEACE Campus held our first “Art of Community Fundraiser”. Featuring the co-founder of Burning Man, Michael Mikel, the event focused on the creative placemaking accomplished each year through their organization, volunteers and attendees, and we explored ways in which we can apply these practices to our own communities and projects. Building on the success of this event, we hope to develop this into an annual fundraiser and explore new topics of interest that are pertinent to fostering healthy, flourishing communities and projects.

As the plan for Coventry PEACE Campus takes shape, we welcome your generosity in the form of donations. To make a donation, please visit our Donation Page.

Learn more about Burning Man, and the 10 Principles of Burning Man

The opening line on Burning Man’s website is what draws us to them – “A city in the desert. A culture of possibility. A network of dreamers and doers.” But it’s when you take a deeper dive into the culture of the Burning Man event and organization where we learn the most. “The 10 Principles of Burning Man” were written by Burning Man co-founder Larry Harvey in 2004. At their core, they are a series of guidelines that all communities can explore and practice. We believe these principles are worth exploring as the Coventry PEACE Campus collaborative begins to take shape, and can bring cultural value to our entire community. We encourage you to visit their website to read moreabout these 10 Principles.
